Kwadaso MP Denies Trading Grades For Sex

Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwadaso constituency in the Ashanti Region and Deputy Minister for Education designate, Prof. Kingsley Nyarko, has come clean, denying vehemently accusation that he tried to exchange grades for sex, while he was a lecturer at the University of Ghana, Legon.

According to the first-time lawmaker, no such thing happened during his years at the Psychology Department of Ghana’s premier university, adding that the claim against him, is a calculated move to destroy his unblemished image.

“I want to put on record that, no such event ever occurred that involved me. I do not, and have never met such a person anywhere in my life. I would challenge the person making such allegation against me to come out publicly, disclose their identity, officially report me to the university authorities for appropriate redress”, he said.

The denial by the embattled MP, comes after one Amouse Bouche, levelled the allegation against the MP on Tuesday, April 30, the same day the legislator was accused of offering bribe to Electoral Commission (EC) officers during the Ejisu by-election.

Charge

His accuser, Amouse Bouche, whose bio reads that she is a certified Canadian chef, while expressing joy over the MP’s alleged bribe video incident on ‘X’ formerly called Twitter said, she was happy that the Deputy Minister designate for Education, has been exposed and prayed that his end comes.

“The lecturer, who used to insinuate he would change grades for sexual favours and made my life hell in Legon, Psychology at JQB especially, was caught on camera bribing at a polling station today. Woow woow woow.

I hope Dr Kingsley Nyarko, has met his end. My vengeance was 11 years late, but very sweet all the same”, she tweeted.

Accuser Dared

But reacting to the accusation, Prof Nyarko, said the claim was made by a faceless individual whose agenda is simply to defame him.

The MP, questioned the authenticity of the name as he has never come across it.

In a statement issued on Friday May 3, and sighted by The Anchor, Prof Nyarko, dared Amouse Bouche to show her face publicly and report him to the university authorities for appropriate action

“It has come to my notice from several social media publications someone by the name Amouse Bouche alleging that about 11 years ago, at JQB psychology, I insinuated sex to change her grade and made life for her hell at Legon. I do not know JQB psychology at the University of Ghana. But I know a lecture hall named JQB.

The name Amouse Bouche is not a real name of a human-being. Someone is behind such a name, and purposely trying to defame me. I want to put on record that, no such event ever occurred that involved me. I do not, and have never met such a person anywhere in my life.

I would challenge the person making such allegation against me to come out publicly, disclose their identity, officially report me to the university authorities for appropriate redress”, he said.

Challenge Thrown

Prof Nyarko, has dared the user of the said social media account to furnish the general public with details of the year the alleged insinuated sex for grade happened, the programme offered and course he the lecturer taught.

He went on to call on anyone, who he insinuated or demanded sexual favours in exchange for sex, to come out publicly or report him to the university.

“I would want the person accusing me to also come clear on the exact year the alleged incident happened, the programme pursued, and the course or courses I taught. I also would encourage any other person that I have taught at the University of Ghana during the years I was a lecturer and have demanded, insinuated and suggested sexual favours in order to alter their grades to come out and say so publicly or report me to the appropriate authorities”.

Ignore It

The former Executive Secretary of the National Accreditation Board in his concluding remark, urged his family, friends and constituents, to disregard the accusation, because there is no iota of truth in it.

Adding “The University of Ghana has a policy in place to address sexual harassment, and takes complaints seriously. I encourage both the accuser and the university to disclose whether any complaints have been received previously and how they were handed.

This serves as a reminder for the accuser to utilize this option too. Coming on the back of the unfortunate incident at Ejisu on Tuesday, 30th April, 2024, I see clear attempt by some persons to deliberately mar, dent and soil my image and reputation built over years”.

He said, “I will stand firm as I always do in difficult times, and by the grace of God, I shall overcome and be vindicated at the end. I want to urge my family, friends, well-wishers and constituents to be calm, and I reassure all that, the alleged incident never ever happened. It is a blatant lie, orchestrated to discredit weaken me, but it won’t work”.
