…Granted GH₵50,000 Bail
Popular Ghanaian Actor, Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, has been charged with dangerous driving and negligently causing harm, after being arrested for his involvement in a road crash that led to the death of a three-year-old boy, Richard Ampomah.
This, was after he was arrested by the Manhyia Police Command in Kumasi, few minutes after he was discharged from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in the early hours of Monday, June 03, 2024.
The Kumawood Actor, who was arraigned before the Asokore Mampong District Court, pleaded not guilty, but his plea was not taken.
The court presided by Samuel Buabin Quansah, granted him bail of GH₵50,000, with two sureties to be justified on the grounds of his health condition.
The accused was granted bail after his Lawyer, Margaret Adjei-Twum, told the court that his client was critically ill and suffered internal bleeding during the road crash.
However, the prosecution did not oppose the bail plea by the accused Lawyer.
The case, has since been adjourned to June 27, 2024, where the accused person, Lil Win, will reappear before the court.
The lawyer for the accused, Margaret Adjei-Twum, who spoke to the media after the court proceedings, accused the police of bulldozing their way to court.
Lil Win, was admitted at the Accident and Emergency Unit (AEU) of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital [KATH] a couple of weeks ago, after he was involved in a fatal accident.
The accident occurred on May 25, 2024, at Amakom in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti region, while on his way to premier his latest movie titled, ‘A Country Called Ghana’.
It was reported that his car crashed with another car and killed a three-year old boy, and injured his father, who is also currently, on admission at KATH.
Efforts to speak with the Police, had proved futile, but a source from the Manhyia Police Command told GNA that further investigations on the case would be done.
