Bawumia Campaign Train Hits Kwahu Easter This Saturday

…With ‘It Is Possible’ Unity Walk and Mini Rally

The Vice President and presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and some bigwigs of the governing party, will over the weekend, storm Kwahu in the Eastern Region for a mega health walk and mini rally.

The exercise, forms part of the NPP’s mobilization efforts at the party’s base in its second stronghold during the Easter festivities, ahead of the crucial December 7 general elections, currently hitting up.

Kwahu, is known for celebrating Easter festivities in grand style, with holidaymakers from across the country and beyond, as well as businesses trooping to the area for entertainment and meeting of families and friends.

The mega event dubbed, “It Is Possible Unity Walk and Mini Rally” is expected to attract thousands of party members, sympathizers and revelers from across the country.

The walk on Saturday, March 30, 2024, is scheduled to start at 5am on the principal streets of Kwahu.

Under the auspices of the Bawumia Campaign Team, the NPP flagbearer, will be joined by other stalwarts of the party, including former presidential aspirants, the National Executives, as well as Regional Executives of the party.

Dr Bawumia, will be accompanied by the 33 parliamentary candidates in the Eastern Region, among others.

A flier announcing the event sighted by The Anchor , listed notable names such as failed party’s presidential aspirant and Member of Parliament (MP) for the Assin Central constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.

Also featuring to take part in the rally are; former Food and Agriculture Minister and failed presidential aspirant, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, former Trade and Industry Minister, Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku and former Minister for Justice and Attorney and MP for Essikado Ketan constituency, Joe Ghartey.

The others are, former Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko, another failed presidential aspirants, Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, Francis Addae Nimo and Kwadwo Poku, who is an energy guru and rumoured to be a potential vice-presidential candidate to Dr Bawumia.

The mega health walk, which is being overseen by the leadership of the 2024 campaign team of the NPP, will be held on the principal streets of Kwahu.

The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, will after the walk at a mini rally, expected to officially introduce all the 33 parliamentary candidates of the party to the electorates.

The party will thereafter, also pay a courtesy call on the Kwahumanhene on Saturday, alongside engaging in other activities on the Kwahu enclave, to boost the party chances ahead of the general elections.

Ahead of the unity walk, some principal streets, have been decorated with the party’s red, blue and white colours, flag and billboards erected, announcing what is set to happen this Saturday.

In a similar exercise, the flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, in April 2023, brought Kwahu to a standstill as thousands joined him for a walk.

The enthusiastic crowd, mostly grassroots members of the New Patriotic Party, also included party bigwigs, such as General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, National Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye aka Nana B, Minister of Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong, as well as a host of MPs, regional and constituency executives of the NPP.

The well-attended walk, dubbed Unity Walk, was organised as part of activities to mark the presence of Dr Bawumia, who was mobbed at the start of the walk.

The walk ended, inside the Mpraeso township, where the Vice President, addressed the crowd.
