NDC MP, Bodyguard In Critical Condition

After Road Crash

Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for the Juaboso constituency in the Western North Region, Kwabena Minta Akandoh, his driver, Joseph Amo, and police bodyguard, Corporal Joseph Ntimbe, are reportedly in critical condition, following a head-on collision on the Juaboso-to-Kumasi highway.

Other passengers onboard the commercial vehicle are also said to have sustained various degrees of injury and were rushed to hospital for treatment.

The near-fatal accident, according to reports, happened on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at about 5:30pm, when the MP’s driver, Joseph Amo, aged 32, in charge of a Toyota Land Cruiser with registration number GN 441-14, was driving the Juaboso MP and his bodyguard from Juaboso towards Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital.

However, on reaching a section of the road at the Nyinahin Twere Nyame area, the Land Cruiser vehicle, belonging to the MP, which was allegedly speeding, made wrong overtaking, while the hazard lights were on.

But the speeding oncoming vehicle, an M/ Benz Sprinter bus with registration number AS 7363-18, which was coming from Kumasi towards Sefwi Wiawso could not veer off the road, hence collided head-on.
