#1030album: 10 solids songs for 10 amazing years in music industry

Ghanaian decorated vocalist MzVee celebrated her 30th birthday with a plush album, the 10 Thirty album, to commemorate 10 rich years of serving voice.

MzVee was all juice as she explained my new studio album with Giovani Caleb on 3FM Drive. According to the singer, as customary for Ghanaians to expect gifts from a birthday celebrant, she decided to give these ornate and well-deserved songs.

So what is 10 Thirsty really about? Simply put, finding a sound. As MzVee put it, this album tastes different from any other work she has ever done. Hitting the third floor certainly has impacted the mental health survivor, in every way.

“I won’t talk from my point of view, but from people’s reviews, they say this album has a different Vee. I’m finding my sound, and this album represents that. It’s just more mature, more laid back. It’s just enjoyment.”

The album is solid – there’s no doubt there – but what else? For MzVee to have executive produced this masterpiece all on her own is a pronouncement of an artiste worthy of listening.

Talking about how much it cost her to produce this remarkable work, MzVee disclosed all the nitty-gritty of handling the business and creative side together.

“The financial part alone is like everything. I’m still paying for stuff. The promotion side of it is a different thing together. Shooting videos and stuff like that is also a different vibe.

“I do have people who support me. And I support myself from what I make from my work as well. I recorded so many songs. And for us to pick the ten songs, my team and I had to sit down and listen and listen, to pick these particular songs,” she told Giovani on the radio.

Expect to hear sounds from Harmonize from Tanzania, Yemi Alade and Tiwa Savage pulling through from Nigeria. Our own Stonebwoy, Kwesi Arthur and Kofi Kinaata are a few of the voices that will tantalize your audio waves.

Listen, stream and download “10 Thirty” on all musical platforms.
